Introduction of new bus routes serving DCU

Dublin Bus has today announced the introduction of three new routes, providing direct connections to DCU from Monday 17th October.

Route 31D (Baldoyle – DCU) Baldoyle – Strand Road- Dublin Road - Howth Road - Collins Avenue – DCU Glasnevin. This bus will depart from Baldoyle at 07.45am (arriving at DCU at 08.35am) and leave DCU at 5.15pm.

Route 42D (Portmarnock – DCU) Portmarnock  - Strand Road - Wendell Avenue - Blackwood Lane - The Hill - Malahide Village - Yellow Walls Road - Swords Road – Holywell - M1 and M50 - Ballymun Road- Collins Avenue – DCU Glasnevin. It will leave Portmarnock at 07.30am (getting to DCU at 08.40am) and depart from DCU at 5.10pm.

Route 70D (Dunboyne – DCU) Dunboyne – Clonee - Blanchardstown Village - Castleknock Road - Navan Road - Nephin Road - Ratoath Road - Ballyboggan Road - Finglas Road - Old Finglas Road - Griffith Avenue Extension - Ballymun Road – DCU Glasnevin. The 70D bus will depart from Dunboyne at 07.15am (arriving at the campus at 08.30am) and leave DCU at 5.05pm.

In addition to these Dublin Bus connections, the following routes were added at the beginning of the academic year and are currently in operation.

Bus Éireann (Navan – DCU) (Trim – DCU) The first departs from Trim and stops in Dunshaughlin, Rathoath, Ashbourne and DCU Glasnevin. A second express service operates direct from Navan to DCU. For more information, visit www.buseireann.ie

JJ Kavanagh Coaches (Skerries – DCU) (Newbridge – DCU) JJ Kavanagh Coaches operates two specific new routes for DCU bound students and staff. The Newbridge – Naas – Lucan service will stop and both the St. Patrick’s and Glasnevin campus. The new Skerries/Rush/ Lusk/ Swords DCU route services the Glasnevin Campus. It commences at 7.30am and 9.30am. There is an afternoon and evening departure leaving at 2.10pm and 5.00pm respectively. For more information visit www.jjkavanagh.ie

  • Newbridge – Naas – Lucan – Liffey Valley – DCU Glasnevin – DCU St Patrick’s

Matthews Coaches (Dundalk – DCU) Matthews Coaches, who operate routes from Dundalk, Drogheda, Bettystown and Laytown to Dublin, run a dedicated direct service from Dundalk/ Drogheda to DCU. Departing at 7.15am it arrives at 8.30am at DCU Glasnevin Campus, with an evening departure at 5.15pm. For more information see www.matthews.ie

For 2017/2018 academic year there will be a Monaghan – Castleblaney – Carrickmacross – Ardee – DCU Glasnevin daily commuter service.
