DCU Alumni Reunion 2013

DCU warmly welcomed back over two hundred graduates to campus on Friday, 27th September to celebrate their 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year class reunions. The festivities began with a campus tour given by Students' Union sabbatical officers Ciaran O'Connor and Lorna Finnegan. For many who have had not been back to DCU since graduating, the tour kicked off the evening celebrations where alumni got an opportunity to wander through one-time familiar pathways and corridors before also seeing and experiencing first hand a vibrant advanced campus with modern facilities and perhaps a little jealousy of the student entertainment centre, the Hub. Alumni were then invited back to their Faculties for a wine reception by the Dean who were also joined by DCU President, Professor Brian MacCraith who updated graduates on the latest university achievements and highlighted the importance of alumni in the continued success of DCU.

Attendees then moved on to the main party venue - The Helix - where they enjoyed a special buffet meal, party photo booth and DJ until late. DCU Alumni Council Chair Gay White warmly thanked graduates for attending and encouraged them to reconnect with their alma mater through the variety of alumni activities, events and initiatives on offer - from sporting and social events to professional and speaker evenings to mentoring a current student.
