Hybrid Student Media Awards

The annual DCU Hybrid Student Media Awards, organised by DCU Media Production Society, have taken place in the Helix. Presenters Dermot and Dave from 98FM hosted this year's Awards which received a record number of 240 applications from students.

The Awards recognise and reward the best of student media in DCU in four categories: Print, Photography & Design, Radio and Video. Four new awards have also been added this year - Newsreader of the Year, Publication Layout of the Year and Promo/Highlights Video of the Year. The judging panel included respected names from across the Irish media spectrum such as Lise Hand (Irish Independent), Brenda Fitzsimons (Irish Times), Ian Dempsey (Today FM), Nialler9 (music blogger and curator) and Nicoline Greer (RTÉ Documentary on One).
