DCU to host international green economy summit
Industry and academia join forces to tackle sustainability challenges
What: DCU will host the SustaiNEXT|EU, Universal Sustainability: Engaging Business & Education towards a Sustainable Future
When: October 11th to 12th
This unique two-day conference will showcase best practice for the green economy, bringing together academia, industry and policymakers to explore local responses to global sustainability challenges in the areas of:
Agriculture/Food (food security, local ecosystems; emerging food technologies)
• Transportation (urban public transport; aviation, travel and tourism; global supply chains; individual transport choices and behaviour)
• Transformative Education (key education challenges of sustainability and sustainable innovations; how education can support and engender sustainability)
• Global Health (from cure to prevention; making healthcare products more efficient; ensuring accessibility to medicines)
• Global Society (re-organising living conditions; restructuring economic sectors; redefining capitalism; addressing workforce issues, poverty and development, business and work practices; understanding and valuing global and societal diversity; engaging science to develop new technologies)

• Robert L. Lattimer, Senior Fellow, Diversity Studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and Chief Strategy Officer of the Sustainability Collaborative

• Dr Mary Coveney, Head of Health & Safety Security and Compliance, Dublin Airport Authority (DAA)
