Dr O'Hara appointed to Teaching Council

Dr Joe O'Hara, Head of the School of Education Studies, has been appointed to the Teaching Council by the Universities and named Third Level Colleges. Dr O'Hara trained initially as a second level teacher and worked in Zimbabwe prior to joining Dublin City University. His educational interests include the use of ICT in Initial Teacher Education, Educational Leadership and Educational Evaluation. His hope for the Teaching Council is that it will both challenge and empower teachers to maintain the high standards that have characterised their work over generations and through this to enhance the status of teaching as a profession.
