DCU Sigerson Senior Football team have claimed the Sigerson Cup for a third time, in an emphatic victory over NUI Maynooth.

President of DCU, Brian MacCraith has congratulated the players on their success,

‘On behalf of the students and staff at Dublin City University, I would like to warmly congratulate the Senior Football team on winning, for a third time, the Sigerson Cup title. This triumph is yet another example of the excellence exhibited by DCU students beyond the walls of the lecture theatre. In acquitting themselves with such distinction in their sporting field of endeavour, be it athletics, basketball, rugby, football, Gaelic, hurling or camogie, our sportsmen and women are wonderful ambassadors for this university. I congratulate each and every one of them for the store of good news stories they have provided in recent weeks. I would also like to recognise the selfless voluntary effort that has been extended by the DCU community in mentoring and managing this wide array of sporting success.’
