Academic biography

Dr. Eldad Ben Aharon is an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Researcher in International Security at the School of Law and Government, at DCU. He leads the research project titled: 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict and Israel's Foreign Policy: Securitization, Geopolitics, and Arms Trading. 

He earned his Ph.D. in History from Royal Holloway, University of London, in 2019, an M.A. with a focus on Holocaust and Genocide studies from the University of Amsterdam in 2014, and a B.A. in International Relations from The Open University in Jerusalem in 2011.

Dr. Ben Aharon specializes in international relations and critical security studies, with a primary focus on the Middle East. His research interests revolve around the international history of the Middle East during the Cold War, primarily examined through archival research and interviews with prominent diplomats and intelligence elites.

His research has been published in leading academic journals such as the European Journal of International Security, Intelligence and National Security, Studies in Conflict & Terrorism,
