India - DCU education fairs

DCU International Office visits India

Representatives from the Dublin City University International Office, together with colleagues from each of the Irish HEIs, recently travelled to India to attend the Education in Ireland fairs and meet with students who are interested in studying abroad at DCU. The events, which took place in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Kochi, showed an increase in attendance from previous events – a sign that Ireland is fast becoming a more popular destination for Indian students.

The majority of student enquiries for DCU are for subjects relating to Computing, Engineering and Management. However, interest in Humanities subjects is increasing with a noticeably increase in enquiries for Journalism, International Relations and Social Media Studies. Ireland’s high quality education system, opportunities for future research positions and our excellent IT sector feature highly in prospective students reasons for choosing us.

The focus on practical education at DCU, our QS Top 50 Under 50 status as well as our excellent employability success mean that DCU is gaining reputation and awareness in India. The delegation from Ireland also took time to meet with academic staff and students in four Indian institutions - BMS College of Engineering and Reva University in Bangalore and Rajalakshmi College of Engineering and Hindustan University in Chennai.
