SALIS, DCU Collaboration with Dublin City University

This database update also includes 105 concepts and 440 terms resulting from a collaboration with Masters students in terminology at the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS), Dublin City University, Ireland.

As part of their coursework, students working with Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese or Spanish provided us with bilingual terminology records in the field of organic electronics, which have been incorporated following validation at WIPO.

A range of improvements have just been made to WIPO Pearl, including new interface languages, more terms in the terminology database, and new concepts/terms resulting from collaboration with Dublin City University (Ireland).

Interface

The WIPO Pearl interface is now available in French, Japanese and Spanish. Users can select their language preference at the top right of the screen. Arabic, Chinese and Russian versions are under preparation.

Improved database

In addition, the terminology database has been updated with 5,000 new terms and 1,000 new concept relations. The database now contains over 120,000 patent terms and 17,000 patent concepts, all entered and validated by WIPO-PCT language experts (translators and terminologists). Nearly 12,000 concepts are linked to other concepts in the database, and these relationships can be browsed in our Concept Map Search.
