Course Descriptor:
The following session, facilitated by the Graduate Studies Offices, is designed to support academic colleagues who are involved in the annual progression process of a research student, such as a Head of School, Research Convener, Supervisor or Independent Panel Member within the supervisory panel. 

This session will take the form of a Question and Answer forum with the Dean of Graduate Studies. 

Please submit your questions to learning.development@dcu.ie by April 29th. 

Suggested topics for questions include:

  1. The appointment of an Independent Panel Member (suitable for Heads of Schools or their nominees / Research Conveners)
  2. The remit of the role (Heads, Supervisors, Independent Panel Members)
  3. The basis of the supervisory panel
  4. The appointment of an Independent Panel Member
  5. The role of the Independent Panel Member role
  6. The role in the context of the Academic Regulations
  7. Implementing research student progress review meetings

 

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE
