Brian Trench is Community Knowledge Broker in this first phase of the service's operation. Brian is a former senior lecturer and Head of School in the School of Communications, DCU. He continues to research and train in science communication and has taken part in several EU-funded science-in-society projects, including the ongoing PERARES project that is based on a network of science shops across 17 countries.

Members of Management Board

Deiric O’Broin is Director of NorDubCo, North Dublin's regional think tank, in DCU. He has worked in the past in economic policy in the private sector and at the Office of Labour Affairs in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, and as public policy adviser in the Office of the Tánaiste. Deiric has worked on a variety of projects with national public agencies and government departments, local government and local development agencies, businesses and business representative associations, higher education institutions and local social enterprises. His teaching and research interests include social innovation, public participation and public policy, and civil society.

Padraig Murphy is also involved with the PERARES project as Evaluation Work Package Lead.  Padraig is a lecturer in the School of Communications specialising in science communication. He is currently chair of the MSc in Science Communication and his research interests are in the areas of public engagement with science and technology and science /society dialogue initiatives.

Ronnie Munck is Head of Civic Engagement, in DCU. Professor Munck has authored or edited more than 20 books on various topics related to globalisation, international development and social movements as well as over 100 academic journal articles. His books have been translated into French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Korean, Turkish Chinese and Japanese. He serves on the editorial boards of a number of international journals including Globalizations, Global Social Policy, Global Labour, Labour History and Latin American Perspectives. He represents DCU on the board of the Centre for Cross Border Studies, on NorDubCo, the Ballymun and Whitehall Partnership, the Creative Dublin Alliance and on the Financial Development and General Strategic Policy Committee of Dublin City Council. He is the Irish representative on the Council of the Development Studies Association of UK and Ireland. He has acted as External Examiner at Cambridge University, the London School of Economics, University of Warwick, Queen's University Belfast, National University of Ireland Maynooth, the Open University, University of Sussex, University of Lancaster, University of Florence, Leiden University, Institute of Social Studies: The Hague. Recent keynote speeches include the International Society for Third Sector Research in Bangkok, the Migration and Informal Labour Conference in Istanbul, the International Transport Workers Federation in Oslo, the Critical Development Forum in Zacatecas, Mexico, the Latino(a) Migration Futures at Omaha, US and the International Development Studies Association in Montreal, Canada.
