Entry Routes and How To Apply

The DCU Access Service facilitates two separate entry routes for students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds under the age of 23 who have completed their Leaving Certificate to gain direct entry to DCU on an Access Scholarship. Please note both routes offer places on year 1 of a level 8 degree in DCU. The routes are:

  1. Higher Education Access Route (HEAR)
  2. DCU Access Scheme

Who Qualifies as an Access Student?

To qualify as an Access student, your family income must be on or below the specified threshold. In addition to this requirement, you must also meet a combination of two of the other criteria, with one indicator meeting the socio-cultural criteria (4 or 5 or 6). This combination of financial, social and cultural indicators will determine your eligibility. To find out more, visit HEAR and DCU Access Scheme.
